Most people attend talks for months first — sensible, and welcome; the gate does not close. When you are ready, apply below.

What happens next

Come to a Precepts evening — dates on the calendar.
The Council considers each application at its next meeting.
A welcomer will sit with you before your first Annual General Meeting, so that nothing on that evening is unfamiliar.
Your membership begins, and you are welcomed at the next uposatha — observance day.

Membership is renewed each year at the Annual General Meeting, where members say the precepts together. The subscription is modest, and can be waived on request.

The undertakings

I take refuge in the Buddha, the Dhamma and the Sangha.

I sincerely undertake the Five Precepts, and understand they are renewed together at each AGM.

I undertake to endeavour upon the Noble Eightfold Path, at my own honest pace.

I commit to the community’s Objects, Founding Principles and the Ten Codes of Moral Conduct.

Renewal: I understand that membership is renewed each year at the Annual General Meeting, and that the annual subscription may be waived on request.
