Policies
Privacy, in plain language
We collect as little as we can, use it only for the reason you gave it, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
What we collect
- Plan-your-visit: your name, email, the date you chose, and anything you chose to tell us.
- Membership application: the fields the Constitution requires for the members' register.
- Study circle, volunteer and skills register: name, contact details, and what you offered or asked for.
- Gifts and pledges: the records required by law and by our auditor.
- Contact form: your name, email and message.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone outside this community.
- We do not run advertising trackers, and there are no pop-ups or chat widgets here.
- We do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in a different form.
- We do not keep browsing profiles of visitors.
Who can see it
Only the office-holders who need it for the task: a welcomer sees visit details; the Secretary sees membership records; the Treasurer sees gift records. Monastics do not hold or access administrative records.
How long we keep it
- Visit forms: deleted three months after the visit.
- Membership records: for the duration of membership, then as required by law.
- Financial records: seven years, as the law requires.
- Contact messages: twelve months.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the Secretary at executive@dhammatg.org. We reply within thirty days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
Details about children are collected only from a parent or guardian, and only for the children's program. Photographs of children are published only with written consent, and student full names are never published beside faces.
Cookies
This site uses only what is needed to serve pages. Where a video or livestream is embedded, that provider may set its own cookies; nothing plays automatically.
